The founding directors of Quorum have been active in Russian financial market since its inception in the early nineties. They were involved in the voucher privatization, created and traded the regions first derivative products and held board seats at a number of leading regional companies.
Bobby Meshoyrer, Founder
Bobby relocated to Moscow in 1993 working as a privatization consultant for the International Finance Corporation. He became active in the region's capital markets in 1994 and was instrumental in developing the brokerage team at United Financial Group. Until 1998 Bobby was the Director of Sales and Trading at Aton Capital Group. Under his leadership Aton became one of the largest investment banks in Russia. Bobby holds a B.A. in mathematics and computer science from Cornell University, an M.Eng. in computer science from Cornell University and an M.B.A. in finance from the Wharton School of Business. He is a U.S. citizen.
Alex Sinelnikov, Founder
Alex started his career as a financial supervisor at Procter & Gamble, Germany, where he was responsible for new launches and M&A activity of several major health care brands. Alex has been active in Eastern European asset management since 1995, most recently as an Investment Manager at ING Barings Vostok's "First NIS Regional Fund", the largest private equity fund in the region. At Barings Vostok, he led major transactions in the food processing, pulp and paper, and real estate sectors in Russia, the Ukraine and Georgia. Alex holds a B.A. in economics from Cornell University and an M.B.A. in finance from the Wharton School of Business. He is a U.S. citizen.
Igor Pavlov, Founder
Igor was one of the early participants in the Russian securities market. He joined Aton Capital Group in 1992 and soon became heavily involved in the region's voucher privatization, heading a team that traded over two percent of all Russian privatization vouchers. From 1996 to 1998 Igor has been Head of Equities Trading at Aton, responsible for both the bank's proprietary positions and client portfolios. He has concentrated on second-tier issues, primarily in the aerospace and manufacturing sectors. Igor holds a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering from Moscow Machinebuilding Institute. He is a Russian citizen.
Maria Platonova, Director of Operations
Maria spent all her professional life at Quorum. She joined as an assistant in 1998 and worked her way up to Back Office Specialist and then Director of Operations. Maria holds a B.A. in foreign languages from the Volgograd Pedagogical University and a B.A. in economics from the Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics. Maria also studied linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin. She is a Russian citizen.
Mikhail Armyakov, Head of Research
Mikhail spent over 15 years of his professional career as an analyst with investment companies operating in Russia. In 1994 Mikhail joined Templeton Asset Management as Equity Analyst where he was involved in marketing and managing the first Russia-dedicated fund listed on NYSE. Later Mikhail joined WestMerchant Bank Ltd. in London covering Russian and East European equities. For over 7 years Mikhail headed the research department at Arbat Capital Management - a local fund manager with over $700 mln in assets focused on Russian HNWI. Before joining Quorum Mikhail headed the research department at Sovlink, Russian brokerage with a focus on small and midcap stocks. Mikhail holds an MA from Moscow Language University and a Master degree from CCIP business school, Paris, France. He is a Russian citizen.
